About Organizers:

Welcome to the Queen Mary Law Journal—a student-led platform of legal scholarship founded in 1998 and proudly published by the Queen Mary Law Society at Queen Mary University of London. Reintroduced in 2010 and revitalized in 2021 under the stewardship of doctoral researchers, the journal has grown into an annual, peer-reviewed publication that explores contemporary themes in law with academic rigour and originality. Indexed in HeinOnline and Westlaw, the QMLJ stands as a testament to resilience, innovation, and our unwavering commitment to fostering intellectual exchange and advancing legal discourse.

Here’s a refined, structured version of your Call for Submissions announcement—clear, engaging, and student-friendly while retaining academic depth:

Call for Submissions – QMLJ 2026 Issue:

Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Queen Mary Law School

The Queen Mary Law Journal Editorial Board invites original literary and creative submissions for our 2026 issue, marking six decades of legal education and scholarship. This milestone year calls for a profound reflection on the nature of law, power, and justice.

We seek contributions that embody Critical Legal Thinking—moving beyond the description of legal rules to interrogate the assumptions, power dynamics, and social implications underpinning them. Authors are encouraged to challenge established orthodoxies and bring interdisciplinary perspectives from sociology, anthropology, history, gender studies, and political science to bridge the gap between abstract theory and lived experience.
