1. About Organisation 

Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), Lucknow is a premier  government institution committed to excellence in legal, forensic, and interdisciplinary  education. Affiliated with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU),  Gandhinagar and functioning under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs,  Government of India, UPSIFS focuses on developing competent legal and forensic  professionals. 

The Institute follows a unique “Law-with-Labs” approach, integrating legal education with  practical forensic training. 

2. About the Opportunity 

The 1st UPSIFS National Moot Court Competition, 2026 is being organised by the Moot  Court Committee, School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies, UPSIFS. The  Competition provides law students with an opportunity to engage in legal research,  memorial drafting, oral advocacy, critical thinking, and courtroom argumentation

The Competition will be conducted in two phases: 

Online Preliminary Rounds: 15–16 October 2026 

Offline Rounds: 30–31 October 2026 at UPSIFS, Lucknow. 

3. Theme 

The Competition is centred on contemporary legal issues involving constitutional and  criminal law, with an interdisciplinary focus on emerging challenges in law, technology,  forensic investigation, and criminal justice. 

4. Eligibility 

• Students pursuing a 3-year LL.B. programme or a 5-year integrated law  programme are eligible. 

• Students enrolled exclusively in postgraduate or diploma programmes are not  eligible

• Each team shall consist of 2 or 3 members:

o Three-member team: 2 Speakers + 1 Researcher 

o Two-member team: 2 Speakers, with one Speaker also serving as the  Researcher. 

• Multiple teams from the same institution may participate, subject to submission of the  prescribed No Objection Certificate (NOC)

5. Registration Fee 

₹3,000/- per team 

The registration fee covers participation in the Online Preliminary Rounds

Teams qualifying for the offline phase shall additionally pay an Accommodation &  Hospitality Fee of ₹1,000/- per person, inclusive of accommodation and meals during the  Offline Phase. 

The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable

• Cash Prize of ₹20,000/-

• Paid Internship with Mr. Aditya Giri, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India

Best Researcher 

• Cash Prize of ₹7,000/- 

• Trophy+ Medal+ Merit Certificate 

• Paid Internship with Mr. Aditya Giri, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India Best Speaker 

• Cash Prize of ₹7,000/- 

• Trophy+ Medal+ Merit Certificate 

• Paid Internship with Mr. Aditya Giri, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India Best Memorial 

• Cash Prize of ₹7,000/- 

• Trophy+ Merit Certificate+ Medal 

• Paid Internship with Mr. Aditya Giri, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India E-Certificates of Participation will be provided to all registered participants.

8. Registration Process 

1. Complete the registration through the prescribed Google Form.

2. Pay the registration fee of ₹3,000/- per team through bank transfer/UPI.

3. Submit the required registration details and payment proof. 

4. After successful registration and verification of payment, the Primary Contact  Person will receive a confirmation email containing the allotted Team Code and  other important details. 

5. The Team Code shall be used for all official communication with the Organising  Committee.
