Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai), established under the 2014 Act, is the newest addition to India’s National Law Schools. It began operations in 2015 with its first batch of B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) students, selected through a national entrance test. Temporarily housed at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, it aims to foster legal excellence through partnerships with leading legal minds. The university emphasizes legal education, research, and social responsibility, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. MNLU Mumbai aspires to become a hub for global legal scholarship rooted in the ethos of rule of law and knowledge society.
The Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law (CICTL) aims to be a centre for excellence in generating and disseminating the knowledge concerning the interrelationship between technology and law across the globe. The initiative aims to advance techno-legal research, policy solutions, and expert collaboration across law and technology. It also offers consultancy to legal, corporate, public, and non-profit sectors globally.
Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai’s Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law (CICTL) announces the second volume in its trilogy on India’s new criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita: Technology, Crime and Justice. This edited book, published by the Central Academy for Police Training, Bhopal (BPR&D, Ministry of Home Affairs), focuses on the practical application of BNS provisions to technology-driven crimes.
The volume will feature case studies, investigative challenges, judicial responses, and model Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) for law enforcement and forensic experts. It also offers comparative insights from international legal systems to help bridge gaps and adopt global best practices. Designed as a reference for police officers, prosecutors, judges, forensic professionals, researchers, and students, the book blends conceptual clarity with actionable guidance.
Interested contributors from law, technology, academia, and policy are encouraged to submit original chapters.
