National Article Writing Competition on Clean & Safe Sports

Organised by the UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports, National Law University Delhi

Theme: Governing Clean & Safe Sports: Ethics and Emerging Challenges

Suggested Topics

Participants may explore contemporary and emerging issues, including:

  1. Anti-doping law & criminalisation of doping (NADA Act, 2022)
  2. Athlete rights & due process before CAS/domestic tribunals
  3. National Sports Governance Act, 2025
  4. Intellectual Property in Sports – broadcasting, personality rights, sponsorship
  5. Artificial Intelligence in officiating, e-sports regulation, NFTs in sports
  6. Comparative/TWAIL perspectives & the Global South in WADA/CAS

Submission Guidelines

  • Word limit: 3,000–5,000 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Abstract: less than 200 words
  • Citation style: OSCOLA 4th edition
  • Similarity index: below 15%
  • Use of AI tools: strictly prohibited
  • Work must be original and unpublished
  • Copyright of manuscripts will vest with the UNESCO Chair for Clean Sports

Formatting Guidelines

  • Use initial capitals for all words except prepositions/articles
  • Heading hierarchy:
    1. First Order
    2. 1.1 Second Order
    3. 1.1.1 Third Order

Registration Fee

  • Single Author: ₹300
  • Co-authored: ₹500

Prizes

  • 1st Prize: ₹10,000 + Certificate
  • 2nd Prize: ₹8,000 + Certificate
  • 3rd Prize: ₹5,000 + Certificate

  • Results Declaration: 15 October 2026
