About Hon’ble Justice M.M. Sundresh:

Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.M. Sundresh, a distinguished jurist and current Judge of the Supreme Court of India, holds degrees from Loyola College, Chennai and Madras Law College, and began his legal career in 1985 as an Advocate before serving as Government Advocate (1991–1996). He was appointed Additional Judge of the Madras High Court in 2009, confirmed as Permanent Judge in 2011, and later served as President of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy. Elevated to the Supreme Court on 31 August 2021, Justice Sundresh has made significant contributions to judicial education and institutional strengthening, combining deep legal expertise with a commitment to nurturing future generations of lawyers.

Judicial Internship Opportunity – Office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.M. Sundresh, Supreme Court of India:

The Office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.M. Sundresh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, is inviting applications for Judicial Internships during the months of July 2026.

This internship offers law students a unique opportunity to gain exposure to judicial processes at the highest court of the country, while engaging in research and brief-making exercises under the guidance of the Judge’s office.


Eligibility Criteria:

Students enrolled in the following programs are eligible to apply:

  • 5-year B.A. LL.B. program (or equivalent): Fourth year or final year students
  • 3-year LL.B. program: Second year (4th semester) or final year students

Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted only through the official Google Form:
  • Deadlines:
    • For July 2026 Internship → 31 May 2026
  • Selection Process:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be notified approximately two weeks before the internship commencement date.
    • Final selection will be based on merit and performance in a typed brief-making exercise.
    • If you do not receive any communication, it means your application has not been successful.

Key Notes:

  • Only applications submitted through the official form will be considered.
  • The deadline for each internship is the 12th of the month preceding the commencement date.
  • This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to judicial research, drafting, and case analysis at the Supreme Court of India.
