About the Programme:

The legal education landscape in India is rapidly evolving under the influence of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, global academic benchmarks, and the growing emphasis on interdisciplinary and outcome-based learning.

To support this transformation, the Institute of Legal Studies at SRMU is hosting a 5-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Shaping the Future of Legal Education and Research.” This initiative is designed to empower law faculty members with advanced pedagogical tools, research strategies, and leadership skills essential for contemporary legal academia.

This 5-day online FDP is designed to address the transformation in legal education brought about by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It emphasizes:

  • Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
  • Interdisciplinary research
  • Global academic standards

The programme aims to enhance:

  • Teaching effectiveness
  • Research capacity
  • Academic leadership

It bridges the gap between traditional legal instruction and contemporary pedagogical, research, and assessment practices.

  • Day 1: Foundations of Contemporary Legal Education
  • Day 2: Teaching Pedagogy and Classroom Innovation
  • Day 3: Legal Research Methodology
  • Day 4: Quality Research Writing & Publications
  • Day 5: Academic Leadership, Ethics & Career Advancement

Each session is curated to offer practical insights, interactive learning, and actionable strategies for law educators across India.

  • Familiarize law faculty with Outcome-Based Legal Education (OBE)
  • Enhance curriculum design and assessment strategies
