Women at Work: Policy Drafting Competition – Call for Abstracts
The GNLU Centre for Women and Child Rights (CWCR), in collaboration with the Centre for Labour Studies and Advocacy, invites students, researchers, and professionals to participate in the Women at Work: Policy Drafting Competition, part of the Women at Work: International Conference at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) on 7–8 March 2026.
About GNLU & CWCR:
- GNLU: Established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003, recognised by the Bar Council of India and UGC. Ranked among the Top 5 NLUs in India (NIRF 2025) and awarded 5 Stars by GSIRF.
- CWCR: Founded in 2020, the Centre promotes interdisciplinary research on gender rights, reproductive justice, and social inclusion, fostering student-led advocacy and impactful policy initiatives.
About the Competition:
The competition encourages participants to critically engage with issues affecting women in both formal and informal workspaces, moving beyond doctrinal analysis to propose implementable, evidence-based policy interventions.
Structure:
- Abstract/Pitch Selection – originality, clarity, relevance, and policy insight.
- Shortlisting & Registration – problem statement released post-selection.
- Policy Draft Submission & Final Presentation – at GNLU on 7–8 March 2026.
Prizes: Cash awards + certificates of recognition.
Note: Use of AI tools is strongly discouraged and may result in disqualification.
Important Dates:
- Abstract submission deadline: 10 February 2026
- Problem statement release: 15 February 2026
- Policy submission: 4 March 2026
- Final presentation: 7–8 March 2026
Abstract Guidelines:
- Max length: 350 words
- Must outline core idea, relevance, and proposed policy approach
- Up to two co-authors permitted
- Preliminary review for all submissions
