About Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws:
Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws is a bi-annual, double-blind, peer-reviewed journal published in English by National Law University, Jodhpur, to advance research and scholarship in the field of insolvency and bankruptcy laws. Established in 2023 under the aegis of the Centre of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Studies, the journal’s starting year of publication is 2024. Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws, being the first and only law journal in India focusing on insolvency and bankruptcy law, provides a platform for rigorous analysis and discourse on both domestic and international aspects of insolvency law and, with a focus on encouraging innovative contributions, aims to foster comprehensive legal research engaging with contemporary policy and doctrinal issues. The journal’s scope is strictly confined to insolvency and bankruptcy law, including related legal and policy topics, and it is published in both print and online formats.
Submission Guidelines:
MODE OF SUBMISSION:
➢ Manuscripts for Volume III, Issue 2 of Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws must be submitted via Google Form by 11:59 PM on July 31, 2026.
➢ Manuscripts will undergo a three-stage blind review conducted by the Board of Editors of Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws over the course of eight (8) weeks after the submission deadline for Volume III, Issue 2 has elapsed.
➢ We accept manuscripts year-round, on a rolling basis. In case any manuscript is to be submitted post the aforesaid deadline, the same should be emailed to solventia@nlujodhpur.ac.in, which shall be considered for the subsequent issue, with the following requirements:
- Subject: Rolling Submission for Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws
- Body of the Email: (1) Name of the Author(s) (2) Title of the Submission (3) Designation/Professional Status of the Author(s) (4) Required Declarations as per the Contribution Guidelines.
- Attachment: The Microsoft Word .doc/.docx format of the manuscript should be attached to the email.
➢ Please note that a failure to adhere to the mode of submission shall vest the Editorial Board with the discretion to reject the manuscript from consideration for the issue.
SCOPE OF CONTRIBUTIONS:
➢ Each issue contains:
- Long Articles, which analyse topics of permanent interest from major national jurisdictions as well as contemporary international issues
- Short Articles, which cover topical recent developments and ongoing debates in the field, and
- Case Notes/Book Reviews
➢ Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws invites contributions from experienced practitioners, academicians and law students on contemporary topics related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy laws, as well as on jurisdiction-specific themes.
➢ Authors are requested to adhere to the Submission Guidelines.
➢ Authors are requested to provide a declaration stating that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and that it is not submitted for consideration to any other law journal.
CONTRIBUTION GUIDELINES:
- Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws seeks submissions under the following categories
- Long Articles – 6,000 to 8,000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
- Short Articles – 3,000 to 6,000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
- Case Notes/Book Reviews – 1,500 to 2,000 words (exclusive of footnotes)
- The manuscript may be co-authored by a maximum of three (3) authors.
- The manuscript must be topical and related to the subject and scope of Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws.
- The manuscript must contain an abstract of not more than 200 words. In case the submitted manuscript does not contain an abstract, the manuscript will be rejected in the initial review.
- The authors must follow the OSCOLA: The Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities for citations and footnotes. In case the submitted manuscript does not adhere to this citation format, the manuscript will be rejected in the initial review.
- The manuscript must not include a table of contents or numbered paragraphs.
- The author must provide a brief biographical description of the author, in the Google Form, and also include the author’s name, affiliation, qualifications and contact details. The manuscript must not contain any mention of or reference to the author’s name, affiliation or credentials.
- Solventia – Journal of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws accepts manuscripts on a rolling basis. Any manuscript submitted after the aforesaid deadline will be considered for the subsequent issue.
- The manuscript must be contained in a Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) document.
- The manuscript must be sent to the Journal via the Google Form, or via the aforementioned email, only in the scenario of a submission post the aforementioned deadline. Please note that submissions made through email, within the deadline, will not be considered for the issue.
- A declaration must be made at the time of submission that the manuscript is an original and unpublished work of the author(s), and that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
Editorial Policy:
- Upon publication, the work becomes the property of National Law University, Jodhpur.
- Permissions for reprints, derivative works, or subsequent publications must be obtained from the Journal.
- Manuscripts undergo a comprehensive blind review; acceptance/rejection is communicated after review.
- Plagiarism limit: 10%; AI usage limit: 15%. Exceeding these thresholds leads to rejection.
- The Editorial Board has full discretion over acceptance/rejection and may refer manuscripts to the Board of Advisors.
- No advance decisions are made based on abstracts or outlines; only full manuscripts are reviewed.
- Manuscripts may be returned with required changes; acceptance may depend on incorporation of suggestions.
- Authors must provide copies of cited resources if requested.
- Accepted authors receive a complimentary printed copy of the issue.
- No fees are charged at any stage of the editorial process.
