Theme: Beyond the Text: Re‑Imagining International Trade through a Gendered Lens Dates: 15–16 December 2026 Venue: Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, Bihar, India
About the Conference
Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, in collaboration with the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, and under the aegis of the WTO Chairs Programme (India & Peru), invites paper submissions for its international academic research conference.
The conference seeks to critically examine whether international trade is truly gender‑neutral or whether its apparent neutrality conceals differentiated realities, opportunities, and burdens across gendered and intersecting social contexts.
Objectives
- Critically explore intersections of gender in international trade law and policy.
- Highlight best practices and innovations for inclusive trade rules and policymaking.
- Create a platform for dialogue among academics, practitioners, policymakers, and institutions to integrate gender equality into global value chains and domestic trade policies.

Submission Guidelines
- Abstract Submission Deadline: 5 October 2026 (11:59 PM IST)
- Notification of Acceptance: 10 October 2026
- Registration Deadline: 18 October 2026 (11:59 PM IST)
- Full Paper Submission: 5 December 2026 (11:59 PM IST)
Requirements:
- Abstracts (350–500 words) must be emailed to tradegender@cnlu.ac.in with subject line WCP2026 Patna: Abstract Submission.
- Include title, research problem, relevance, methodology, and argument.
- Attach a mini‑bio (max 150 words per author).
- Co‑authorship allowed (maximum two authors).
- Full papers: 6000–8000 words (excluding references/footnotes).
- Papers with explicit AI‑generated content will not be considered for publication.
Publication Opportunity
Selected papers will be considered for publication in:
- Special Issue of CNLU Journal of International Trade and Investment Law (peer‑reviewed, published by Thomson Reuters), OR
- An edited volume by a reputed international publisher.
Participation & Registration
- Open to students, academics, policymakers, think‑tank professionals, practitioners, and institutional representatives.
- Indian Nationals: ₹3000 per author (individual fee).
- Foreign Participants: Registration fee waived.
- Fee includes kit, reading material, lunch, refreshments, and access to sessions.
- Accommodation support available; logistics note will be shared.
- In‑person participation required (exceptional online participation may be allowed).
