About the Conference

The NDPS Act, 1985 has been the cornerstone of India’s drug control regime for nearly four decades. While it has shaped narcotics regulation, its enforcement has raised complex jurisprudential and constitutional challenges.

This conference seeks to:

  • Examine judicial interpretations and enforcement concerns.
  • Discuss procedural safeguards, evidentiary standards, bail jurisprudence, and sentencing principles.
  • Explore law enforcement responses, rehabilitation measures, and socio-legal challenges.
  • Contribute to India’s vision of a Drug-Free India by 2047.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstract: 300–350 words (Deadline: 22 March 2026)
  • Full Paper: 4000–8000 words (Deadline: 7 April 2026)
  • Citation Style: MNLU Mode of Citation
  • Plagiarism Limit: ≤ 10% (AI-generated writing prohibited)
  • Co-authorship allowed (max 2 authors)
  • Selected papers will be published in a special issue of Contemporary Law Review.
