7th Kerala Law Academy ADR (Hybrid) Competition – 2026
The Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, is hosting the 7th National ADR (Hybrid) Competition. This prestigious event brings together law students from across India to showcase their skills in alternative dispute resolution methods including conciliation, mediation, and arbitration.
Key Dates
- Provisional Registration Deadline: 20th August 2026
- Final Registration Deadline: 31st August 2026
- Team Code Allotment: 2nd September 2026
- Settlement Deed Submission: 9th September 2026
- Inaugural Session: 17th September 2026
- Preliminary Round: 18th September 2026 (Virtual – Zoom)
- Semi-Final Round: 19th September 2026 (Virtual – Zoom)
- Final Round & Valedictory Session: 9th October 2026 (Hybrid – Kerala Law Academy Campus)
Team Composition
- Open to all law colleges, law schools, and universities recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Each team must consist of two members and one rapporteur.
- Multiple entries from the same institution are permitted with institutional approval.
- Postgraduate and correspondence law students are not eligible.
Registration Details
- Fee: ₹3,250 per team
- Provisional Registration: Email to klaadr@keralalawacademy.in
- Final Registration: Submit proforma via Kerala Law Academy Website and pay online through Google Form Link
Competition Format
- Rounds: Prelims, Semi-Finals, Finals
- Problems: Separate legal problems for each round
- Role Play: Claimant, Respondent, and Rapporteur based on ADR methodology
- Settlement Deeds: Mandatory for all rounds (max 20 pages, submitted in Word & PDF)
- Caucus Sessions: Optional, 5 minutes within allotted time
- Time Limits:
- Prelims – 30 minutes per team
- Semi-Finals & Finals – 40 minutes per team
Evaluation & Awards
- Marking Scheme:
- Settlement Deed – 20 marks
- Oral Presentation – 80 marks
- Judges: Eminent judges, lawyers, and law teachers from across India
- Awards:
- Best Team – ₹20,000 cash prize
- Second Best Team – Certificate of Honour
- Best Rapporteur – Certificate of Honour
- All participants – Certificate of Participation
Mandatory Online Requirements
- Prelims & Semi-Finals via Zoom (desktop/laptop only, mobile not allowed)
- Strong internet connection and good camera quality required
- Participants must join 20 minutes before the round
- Earphones mandatory (except for medical exemptions)
- Strict prohibition on malpractice, scouting, and identity disclosure
