Iswar Saran Post Graduate College, a premier constituent college of the University of Allahabad came into existence in 1970 under the aegis of Harijan Sewak Sangh founded by Late Munshi Iswar Saran, a close associate Mahatama Gandhi.

ABOUT THE REFRESHER COURSE

Iswar Saran PG College from its very beginning has been involved in organizing U.G.C. and M.H.R.D – Sponsored Refresher Courses for  teachers aimed to advance the quality of teaching and research in social sciences both at the graduate and post-graduate levels. The initiative has been taken to organize refresher courses to advance the quality of teaching and research in the aspects of Legal Studies both at the graduate and post-graduate levels. The subject areas extended to substantive and procedural courses.

The present Online Refresher Course will look at the syllabus, study materials and teaching methods of Constitutional Law, Public International Law, Family Law, Torts and Consumer Protection, Law of Crimes, Jurisprudence, Interpretation of Statutes, Public Interest Lawyering & Legal Aid, Corporate Law, Cyber Law, Intellectual Properties Right, Labor Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, Contract Law, Business Law and Arbitration Law and Right to Information.

Updating recent developments in knowledge and skills on the laws as well as emerging tools and techniques for better teaching/learning of these subjects will be the focus of the course.

This fifteen day law teaching refresher courses is aimed at providing Academicians and Research Scholars who would like to update their knowledge for best teaching methodology and practices, materials, content analysis, presentation style to enhance the teaching skill and to promote discussion, to share the ideas and experience with fellow Professors. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and views. The expected learning outcome includes not just updating knowledge, but also how to translate it into teaching/learning modules in the respective subjects.

Through exchange of experience, the course expects to adopt best practices and innovative methods in teaching and research in Law.

The methodology of the Online Refresher course shall be based on an online session comprising a minimum one session a day of one and a half hour. The compulsory lecture shall be followed by an assignment and cumulative assignment : Classroom lectures, case study, exercise based, group discussion, presentation by participants.

• Teaching Skills and Ethics
• Making Law Graduate Practice Ready with reference to teaching to Commercial Law
• Teaching and Practice of Constitutional Law, writ petition contents [Municipal waste management] and Urban Governance
• Practice before Tribunals and NGT of Human Rights Law and Environmental Law
• Framing and Drafting a Policy-Privacy Law in India
• Research writing and reporting in International Law
• Interpretation of Law: Tools,  IT, Technology and PPP
• Indian law & policy on urban development: Analysis of Past, present and future
• Three Best Participation Awards shall be awarded to the participants on the basis ofactive participation and timely submission of the assignments allocated during the online refresher course. The best law teacher participation award shall be presented to the participant along with the certificate and a momento for the same. The certificate and momento shall be sent to the participant on the postal address provided by them.

 Learning outcomes

 After this Online Refresher Course, the participating law teachers and research scholars will be aware of various useful teaching skills and teaching tools. Their theoretical and practical approach towards law will be broadened. They will be well versed with emerging contemporary challenges in the law and their future prospects. The interaction between various law teachers across the nation would also be among many outcomes that we aspire to achieve during this one week Online Refresher Course.

Eligibility

The Online Refresher Course has been specifically designed for early-career academicians, research scholars and doctoral candidates who are teaching or conducting research in the field of Law.

Registration fee:

Fees for the Online Refresher Course: 1500/- for research scholars and 2000/- for academicians (Non-Refundable)

Steps for Registration:

• Participants will fill the Google Form with all the required details and payment within the final date of submission that is 5^th July 2020 the late application will not be entertained.
