About Hon’ble Justice Sandeep Mehta:
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sandeep Mehta has had a distinguished career in the legal profession and judiciary:
- Legal Practice:
- Practiced extensively in Trial Courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India.
- Served as Counsel in three Judicial Enquiry Commissions headed by retired and sitting Judges of the High Court.
- Bar Council Leadership:
- Member, Bar Council of Rajasthan (2003–2009).
- Vice‑Chairman, Bar Council of Rajasthan (2004–2005).
- Chairman, Bar Council of Rajasthan (2010).
- Judicial Career:
- Elevated as Additional Judge, Rajasthan High Court (30 May 2011); became Permanent Judge on 6 February 2013.
- Took oath as Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court (15 February 2023).
- Elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India (9 November 2023).
Internship Details – June to August 2026:
The Chambers of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sandeep Mehta, Supreme Court of India, invites applications for in‑person, full‑time internships during the period June–August 2026.
Internship Slots:
- 11 June – 28 June 2026 [Open]
- 12 July – 31 July 2026 [Open]
- 1 August – 31 August 2026 [Open]
Note: Separate applications must be submitted for each slot if applying for multiple periods.
Eligibility:
- 4th/5th year students of a 5‑year integrated B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. programme (or equivalent).
- 3rd year students of a 3‑year LL.B. programme.
Application Guidelines:
- Deadline: Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the start of the desired slot.
- Rolling Basis: Applications are accepted continuously; early submission is encouraged.
Selection Process:
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email or phone approximately 2 weeks before the start of the slot.
- If no communication is received by then, the application may be considered unsuccessful.
- The process is highly competitive and non‑selection does not reflect on the applicant’s capabilities or potential.
