Smt. Nirmala Devi Bam Memorial International Moot Court Competition – Chapter VIII (2026):

The Indore Institute of Law proudly announces the 8th edition of the Smt. Nirmala Devi Bam Memorial International Moot Court Competition, scheduled to be held from 15th to 17th May 2026 at its NAAC A+ accredited campus in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This flagship event commemorates the legacy of Smt. Nirmala Devi Bam, whose vision continues to inspire academic excellence and legal scholarship.

About the Competition:

The competition is designed to foster advocacy skills, legal research, and courtroom excellence among law students. It provides a platform for aspiring legal professionals to engage with contemporary issues through rigorous research, persuasive arguments, and simulated courtroom proceedings before distinguished judges, academicians, and practitioners.

Over the years, the event has attracted participation from leading law schools and universities across India and abroad, making it one of the most prestigious moot court competitions in the country.

Sustainable Development at the Crossroads: Harmonising Economic Growth & Environmental Protection through Environmental Governance

This year’s theme explores the delicate balance between economic development and environmental sustainability. Participants will critically analyze issues relating to:

  • Environmental governance and regulatory frameworks
  • Sustainable economic development
  • Climate change and environmental justice
  • Corporate responsibility and environmental compliance
  • International environmental law and policy

Objectives:

The competition aims to:

  • Develop advocacy and litigation skills among law students
