The School of Law, University of Nottingham has a longstanding reputation for excellence in international criminal law research and teaching. The International Criminal Justice Unit (HRLC), established in 2003, has hosted high-profile events including sessions at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Assembly of States Parties.
The Unit also manages the National Implementing Legislation Database (NILD) of the ICC’s Legal Tools Project. Alumni of the School have gone on to distinguished careers in academia and practice, and the conference aims to strengthen this global network.
Beyond international criminal law, the School has expertise in human rights, humanitarian law, disaster law, criminal justice, jus ad bellum, and international organisations law, supported by centres such as the Nottingham International Law and Security Centre (NILSC) and the Criminal Justice Research Centre.
The University of Nottingham School of Law, in partnership with the International Criminal Justice Unit (Human Rights Law Centre), invites submissions for the Nottingham International Criminal Justice Conference 2026.
This interdisciplinary conference will bring together academics, practitioners, and policymakers to explore pressing issues in international criminal justice. Following the success of the 2024 and 2025 conferences, the 2026 edition will continue to foster dialogue, research exchange, and professional networking.
