Invitation to Teach Elective Courses at NLSIU (Trimester I, Academic Year 2026-27):

About the Opportunity:
The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru is inviting applications from qualified individuals to offer Elective Courses in the first trimester of the Academic Year 2026-27. This initiative provides academics, practitioners, and experts an opportunity to contribute to NLSIU’s rigorous and diverse curriculum by engaging students in specialized areas of law and social sciences.
Course Requirements:
- Classroom Engagement: 40 hours (ordinarily spread across 10 weeks).
- Office Hours: Two hours per week for student consultation.
- Mode: All classes will be conducted in-person on campus.
- Scheduling: Classes between 9 AM – 7 PM on weekdays; most electives scheduled between 2 PM – 7 PM. In special cases, Saturday sessions may be arranged.
- Condensed Format: In exceptional cases, courses may be delivered within 4–6 weeks.
Types of Elective Courses:
Electives at NLSIU typically follow one of three formats:
- Taught Courses: Lecture/discussion-based, assessed through exams.
- Research Courses: Focused on primary and secondary research culminating in a term paper.
- Practice/Clinical Courses: Fieldwork, simulations, drafting, or litigation exercises assessed through clinical methods.
Support for Visiting Faculty:
- Academic Associate: May be provided to assist with course delivery (subject to request and availability).
- Travel Reimbursement: One economy-class domestic airfare (to-and-fro Bengaluru). Note: International flights are not reimbursed.
- Accommodation: Off-campus facility provided for the first 10 days of the trimester. Extended arrangements may be made on a paid basis, subject to availability.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must possess:
- A graduate and post-graduate degree in Law or Social Sciences.
- Preferred: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience OR 7–10 years of legal practice.
- Individuals with significant publications in their field will be given preference.

- Review: Proposals will be evaluated by the Academic Review Committee (ARC).
