About Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University:

The Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), one of India’s oldest and most prestigious centers of legal education, is pleased to announce the call for papers for the upcoming edition of its flagship journal, Law Society Review (2026).

Legal education at AMU traces its roots back to 1883, when Sir Syed Ahmad Khan envisioned a modern institution modeled on British universities. In 1960, the Department of Law was elevated into a full-fledged Faculty, which has since nurtured generations of distinguished jurists, scholars, and practitioners recognized across India and abroad. Today, AMU continues to uphold its legacy of academic excellence and commitment to advancing legal scholarship.
