Rajiv. K Luthra Foundation and NLU Jodhpur sign MoU to establish the Rajiv K. Luthra NLUJ Accessibility Lab
National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) is one of India’s premier law schools, known for its rigorous academic programs, vibrant student community, and commitment to advancing legal scholarship. Over the years, NLUJ has built a reputation for fostering innovation in legal education and producing graduates who contribute meaningfully to the profession.
The Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation, established in memory of the late Rajiv K. Luthra—one of India’s most eminent corporate lawyers and a passionate advocate for equal opportunity—works to promote education, inclusion, and access to justice. The Foundation continues his legacy by supporting initiatives that bridge gaps in professional training and empower marginalized communities.
In a significant step towards strengthening disability inclusion and accessible legal education, the Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation and NLUJ have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Rajiv K. Luthra–NLUJ Accessibility Lab on the university campus.
This state‑of‑the‑art facility will serve as a dedicated accessibility hub, designed to support students across visual, auditory, locomotor, learning, and other disabilities. The Lab will provide both academic and infrastructural assistance, ensuring that students with diverse needs can thrive in the demanding environment of legal education.
As part of the collaboration, two students with disabilities from NLUJ will be offered annual internship opportunities at Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, one of India’s leading law firms. This initiative aims to provide tangible professional exposure and promote stronger representation of persons with disabilities within the legal profession.
The Lab is named in honour of Rajiv K. Luthra, whose career was marked not only by corporate law excellence but also by his commitment to equal opportunity. The Accessibility Lab reflects his vision of a legal profession that is inclusive, diverse, and accessible to all.
The Rajiv K. Luthra–NLUJ Accessibility Lab is among the first institutionalized accessibility facilities of this scale and vision in India’s higher education ecosystem. It is expected to be fully functional by February 2026, setting a benchmark for inclusive infrastructure in universities nationwide.
This collaboration represents a transformative moment for legal education in India—where accessibility is recognized not as an add‑on, but as a core institutional priority.
