The School of Law, NMIMS Indore (est. 2019, approved by BCI), offers integrated five‑year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programmes. It emphasizes holistic legal training through moot courts, policy drafting, client counselling, legal aid initiatives, and collaborations with judiciary, bar, and policy institutions.

SAMATVA – The Legal Aid & Awareness Cell is the student‑run society at NMIMS Indore dedicated to equality, access to justice, and social empowerment. It conducts legal aid camps, awareness drives, outreach programmes, prison visits, Lok Adalat sessions, and digital awareness initiatives.

About the Event

Nyaya Setu – The AI & Justice Policy Convention is a national‑level policy drafting competition conceptualized as a Policy Hackathon. It focuses on the challenges and opportunities of integrating Generative AI into India’s justice system.

• Objective: Draft robust policy guidelines regulating AI in justice and legal aid.
• Focus Areas: Algorithmic bias, hallucination of precedents, data privacy, transparency, and accountability.
• Problem Tracks:
  • AI‑assisted legal information systems
  • Legal document drafting tools
  • Case assessment mechanisms
  • Multilingual access to justice
  • Research support for legal aid lawyers

Competition Format

• Preliminary Stage: Submission of Policy Concept Note (≤ 2000 words). Evaluated by Civis policy experts. Top 8 drafts shortlisted.
• Advanced Stage: Quarter‑finals and semi‑finals at NMIMS Indore. Submission of full policy (≤ 7500 words). Evaluation based on research, presentation, and critique.
• Final Stage: Top 2 teams present before a simulated Parliamentary Standing Committee. Includes press conference round for Best Speaker award.

• Advanced & Final Rounds: Offline (On‑Campus, Indore)

• Open to students from any UGC‑recognized university/institution.
• Team size: 2 members.
• One participant can join only one team.
