About the Youth Parliament:
The Youth Parliament is a dynamic platform replicating the operations of India’s legislative bodies. It enables students to:
- Debate, deliberate, and decide on pressing national and global issues.
- Assume roles of MPs, ministers, and political leaders.
- Develop critical thinking, leadership, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
- Engage in discussions on governance, policy, social justice, climate change, and economic growth.
This initiative bridges academic learning with practical politics, nurturing future leaders and informed citizens.
About the Competition – SIYAASAT 2026:
The National Youth Parliament Competition under VIDHIUTSAV’26 offers a transformative experience through three segments:
- All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM):
- Simulates a conference of political parties.
- Focus on governance, policy, social welfare, economic growth, and national security.
- Lok Sabha Session:
- Modeled on authentic parliamentary practices.
- Participants debate legislative issues, gaining insight into policymaking and representation.
- Ad-Hoc Committee:
- Temporary body addressing specific issues.
- Delegates act as subject-matter experts, drafting actionable recommendations.
Law-Centric Agendas:
- Lok Sabha: Deliberation on NIA Act, 2019 and curbing cross-border terrorism.
- AIPPM: Debate on ‘Vote Chori’ narrative and strengthening electoral integrity through intensive revision of electoral rolls.
- Ad-Hoc Committee: Emergency or Authoritarian Coup? Re-investigating the Constitutional Collapse of 1975–77.
Rules of Procedure:
- Lok Sabha: National Anthem, Oath of Speaker, Statements, Discussion Hour, Question Hour, Zero Hour, Introduction & Reading of Bills, Voting.
- AIPPM: Roll Call, Adoption of Agenda, Opening Statements, Public & Private Sessions, Closing Statements.
- Ad-Hoc Committee: Opening Remarks, Oath, Member Statements, Sub-group Research, Expert Briefings, Drafting Recommendations, Voting, Submission of Findings.
Registration Details:
- Registration Fee: ₹1000
- Accommodation Fee: ₹900 per person per day (includes breakfast & dinner)
- Total Fee per Delegate: ₹2800
Prizes & Certificates:
- Certificate of Participation for all delegates.
- Certificate of Merit for winners, signed by judges and dignitaries.
- Trophies & Cash Prizes: Prize pool worth ₹65,000.
- Training and orientation sessions to prepare participants.
