National Moot Court & Trial Advocacy Competition | National Forensic Sciences University | Gandhinagar | Register by 11th March 2026
The School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies (SLFJPS) at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar proudly announces Nyaya Abhyuday 2.0, a premier techno‑legal academic initiative scheduled for 28–29 March 2026.
This flagship fest brings together aspiring lawyers, researchers, and policy thinkers to explore the evolving interface of law, technology, and justice through two national‑level competitions:
Established in 2020 by an Act of Parliament, NFSU is an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs. With headquarters at Gandhinagar, the university integrates forensic sciences, law, criminology, technology, and behavioral studies. It hosts centres of excellence such as the Ballistics Research Centre, Cyber Defence Centre, and International Centre for Humanitarian Forensics, serving both national and international clients.
The School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies focuses on forensic applications in law and policy. Its mission is to strengthen justice administration through forensic lenses, emphasizing crime prevention, crime mapping, and fair dispensation of justice. It aims to nurture professionals equipped to handle complex techno‑legal challenges.
The Moot Court Committee (MCC) is a vibrant platform for law students to sharpen advocacy, drafting, and analytical skills. Through simulated court proceedings, students gain practical exposure to litigation in diverse national and international contexts.
Nyaya Abhyuday is designed to bridge academic knowledge with real‑world practice. The fest cultivates critical thinking, advocacy, and awareness of technological transformations in law.
This initiative is the brainchild of Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Dean of SLFJPS, whose vision has shaped the fest into a transformative academic platform.
Participants will argue on cutting‑edge legal issues emerging from technological advancements, fostering strategic thinking and innovative argumentation.
Moot Proposition Highlight:
The fictional Union of Freedonia authorizes deployment of AI‑enabled autonomous weapon systems (Igniter‑D). A tragic drone strike on civilians sparks constitutional challenges around right to life, accountability, and democratic safeguards. Teams will argue for petitioners (victims and activists) or respondents (Union Government, Def Tech AI, and its CEO).
For More Details:
This competition offers an immersive courtroom experience, enabling participants to develop litigation strategy, persuasive advocacy, and practical trial skills essential for future legal practice.
