About MNLU Mumbai:

Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under the
Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. The Act envisaged to establish National Law University in Maharashtra to impart advanced legal education and promote society-oriented research in legal studies for the advancement of societal life of the people in the country. The prime goal of the University is to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and processes of law amongst the students and impart in them the skills of advocacy, legal services, law reforms and make them aware and capable to utilise these instruments for social transformation and development.

About the Course:

India, as a rapidly emerging knowledge economy with a strong Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regime, faces challenges of limited awareness and misconceptions about IPR benefits and processes. To address this, the DPIIT IPR Chair at MNLU Mumbai and the University’s Centre for Research in IP are organizing a One Week Online Certificate Course on the Patenting System in India, aimed at providing comprehensive legal and practical insights into the Indian patent framework—from its evolution to searches, patentability, filing, drafting, prosecution, commercialization, licensing, assignments, and enforcement under the Patents Act. Taught by IPR academicians, senior Patent Office officials, and reputed professionals, the course is designed to benefit MSMEs, startups, businesses, researchers, educators, and aspirants of the patent agent examination by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and expertise in innovation and patent protection.

Important Instructions:

1. It is an online course to be conducted through Zoom meetings
   with two sessions of 1 hour 15 minutes each for six days.
2. The timings of the sessions will be 3 PM – 4:15 PM IST and 4:15 PM – 5:30 PM IST.
3. Zoom Joining Link will be shared two days before the start of the course.
4. Feedback and MCQ based evaluation form will be shared with the candidates on the last day of the certificate course.
