The Indian Journal of Constitutional Law (IJCL), published under the aegis of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, invites submissions for its fourteenth volume (2026). This volume will feature two issues:

  • General Issue
  • Special Issue on “Dignity: Promise and Practice”

About the Journal:

Over the past decade, IJCL has established itself as a platform for rigorous scholarship in constitutional law, welcoming contributions from professors, researchers, and students alike. All submissions undergo a multi‑stage peer review process to ensure academic quality and originality.


Categories of Submissions

  • Articles (4,500–7,000 words): Sustained doctrinal or theoretical analysis.
  • Essays (3,000–4,500 words): Concise, innovative approaches challenging existing paradigms.
  • Case/Legislative Comments (1,500–3,000 words): Critical study of judicial pronouncements or legislative developments.
  • Other Submissions (1,500–3,000 words): Book reviews, short responses, or notes on practical experiences in constitutional litigation, drafting, or adjudication.

Special Issue Theme – Dignity: Promise and Practice

This issue builds on the National Conference on Dignity Law (July 2025). It seeks to interrogate dignity as both a constitutional value and a lived reality, exploring its role in privacy, equality, autonomy, criminal justice, and intersections with caste, gender, sexuality, and disability. Contributions may adopt doctrinal, comparative, empirical, or interdisciplinary approaches.


Submission Guidelines:

  • Citation: Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (4th Ed.).
  • Formatting: Times New Roman, 12‑pt font, 1.5 spacing (main text); 10‑pt font, single spacing (footnotes).
  • Abstract: ≤ 350 words.
  • Joint Contributions: Allowed (up to two authors).
  • Author Details: Institutional affiliation, designation, and contact information in a separate document.

Process & Timeline:

  • Submissions must be made via the Google Form provided by IJCL.
  • Deadline: May 31, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: August 15, 2026
