About CBCL:

The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL) at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, was founded in 2008 as a dedicated hub for research and dialogue in corporate and commercial law. Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ghayur Alam, CBCL has consistently fostered collaboration with industry experts, enabling students to gain practical insights and engage with contemporary developments in the field.


About the Summit:

CBCL proudly announces the 11th edition of the NLIU–Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, scheduled for 27–28 February 2026 at the NLIU campus, Bhopal. Over the past decade, the Summit has grown into one of India’s leading platforms for academic exchange, bringing together students, scholars, and practitioners to deliberate on pressing issues in corporate and commercial law.

Since its expansion in 2018, the Summit has consistently attracted eminent voices from across the country, encouraging rigorous scholarship and meaningful debate. The 2026 edition builds on this legacy, offering a stage for pioneering research and critical discussion on emerging global trends in corporate and commercial regulation.


Paper Presentation Competition:

Law students from institutions across India are invited to participate in the paper presentation competition. Submissions may address themes such as:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Private Equity and Venture Capital
  • Cross-Border Insolvency and Restructuring
  • International Capital Markets
  • Foreign Investment Laws
  • Banking and Finance Regulations
  • Global Competition and Antitrust Regimes

Submission Categories:

  • Long Articles (4000–7000 words): Comprehensive analysis of contemporary issues.
  • Case Comments (2000–4000 words): Critical evaluation of recent judgments.
  • Short Articles (2000–4000 words): Focused analysis of current developments.
  • Legislative Comments (2000–4000 words): Examination of new laws, amendments, or reports.
  • Book Reviews (1000–3000 words): Review of recent publications in corporate and commercial law.

Note: Word limits exclude abstract and footnotes. A 10% relaxation may be allowed at the discretion of the Editorial Board.


Eligibility:

Participants must be enrolled in LL.B. (Hons.) / LL.B. / LL.M. programs at recognized universities during the academic year 2025–2026.


Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions must be original and adhere to high academic standards.
  • Each paper must include a 250–300 word abstract.
  • Zero tolerance for plagiarism – plagiarized entries will be rejected outright.
  • Co-authorship is allowed for articles (maximum two authors), but not for case comments, legislative comments, or book reviews.
  • Formatting: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing; citations in OSCOLA 4th Edition.

How to Submit?

  • Manuscripts must be submitted by 11:59 PM, 3rd January 2026 via the official Google form (link provided at the end of the post).
  • Submissions must include:
    • The manuscript
    • Author details and affiliation
    • Signed originality statement
    • Signed copyright statement (copyright will vest with CBCL)

Acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to each author upon submission.
