Established in the academic session 2003–04 at the campus of P.U. Extension Library, Ludhiana, the University Institute of Laws (UIL), Panjab University Regional Centre (PURC), Ludhiana has consistently pursued excellence in legal education and research. Beyond academics, UIL nurtures leadership and holistic development through literary, debating, cultural, entrepreneurial, and recreational activities. To further its mission, UIL launched the Annual Journal of Law, a platform for scholars, academicians, researchers, and professionals worldwide to exchange ideas and promote problem‑solving capabilities.
The Journal of Law is a peer‑reviewed/refereed annual publication of UIL, PURC, Ludhiana. It provides a forum for legal practitioners, professionals, researchers, and academicians to critically engage with contemporary legal issues, refine writing and citation skills, and contribute to the advancement of legal pedagogy.

Children, as the most vulnerable yet vital section of society, deserve special care and protection under national and international frameworks. Despite progressive legislations such as the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, the POCSO Act, 2012, and the Right to Education Act, 2009, challenges persist in enforcement and access to justice.
Emerging threats in the 21st century—digital exploitation, trafficking, child labour, environmental displacement, and inequality in education—demand renewed academic and policy engagement. This Special Edition seeks to:
