About B.M.S. College of Law:
Established in 1963 under the B.M. Sreenivasaiah Educational Trust, the College is a premier institution offering B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B. (5 & 3 Year Degree Courses). Accredited with B++ by NAAC, the institution is known for its strong faculty, infrastructure, and alumni network. It actively promotes legal awareness on contemporary issues including IPR, consumer rights, and women’s rights through lectures, drives, and community engagement programs.
About VTPC:
Founded in 1971, the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC) is Karnataka’s nodal agency for international trade promotion under the Department of Industries & Commerce. It is also the state’s premier authority for Geographical Indications (GI) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) initiatives, pioneering Karnataka’s GI Policy and conducting training, awareness, and outreach programs to protect and promote innovation.
Concept Note:
The conference addresses the changing paradigm of Intellectual Property Law in the era of technology and AI. With AI generating works, inventions, and data‑driven innovations, traditional frameworks of authorship, inventorship, and ownership face unprecedented challenges. The event will explore:
- Ownership of AI‑generated content
- Patentability of autonomous inventions
- Fair use in machine learning
- Trade secret protection in digital economies
- IP challenges in blockchain, metaverse, and virtual ecosystems
- Ethical and cross‑border dimensions of IP in AI
The aim is to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among academicians, practitioners, policymakers, and students to build a future‑ready IP regime.

- Patentability of AI Inventions – Novelty, inventiveness, global perspectives
- Data Mining & Fair Use – Copyrighted datasets, privacy, governance

- IP in Metaverse & Blockchain – NFTs, trademarks, jurisdictional challenges
- Ethical & Regulatory Dimensions – International harmonisation, competition law, public interest
Call for Papers:
- Contributions invited from judicial officers, academicians, researchers, advocates, policymakers, and students.
- Selected papers will be published in the BMSCL Journal of Law (ISSN).
- Best paper presenters will receive cash prizes.
Submission Guidelines:
- Abstract: Max 300 words, MS Word format, Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing.
- Full Paper: 3500–4000 words, Bluebook 21st Ed citation style.
- Originality: Submissions must be non‑plagiarized, created without generative AI.
- Co‑authorship: Allowed up to one co‑author.
