About GNLU-SLR:

The GNLU Student Law Review (GSLR) is the flagship student‑run journal of Gujarat National Law University. It is an annual, double‑blind peer‑reviewed publication edited by students, with regular input from academics and practitioners. The journal aims to encourage critical discussion on contemporary legal issues and promote innovative solutions to challenges in law and policy.

Following the successful release of Volume VI, the Editorial Board now invites submissions for Volume VII.

Submissions Accepted:

The journal welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts from students, academicians, researchers, and practitioners. Submissions may fall under the following categories:

  • Articles (4500–8000 words): In‑depth analysis of a legal issue, highlighting its relevance to current policy and practice.
  • Book Reviews (4500–8000 words): Critical engagement with a legal text, assessing its contribution to modern legal debates.
  • Case Notes (2500–4500 words): Analytical commentary on recent or landmark judgments of Indian courts, focusing on background and implications.
  • Legislative Comments (2000–4000 words): Examination of recent bills or legislation, with comparative insights and suggestions for reform.
  • Word limits exclude footnotes. A maximum extension of 500 words may be allowed if justified by quality.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Authorship:
    • Articles: Up to 3 co‑authors permitted.
    • Other categories: Maximum 2 co‑authors.
  • Originality:
    • Manuscripts must be exclusive to GSLR.
    • Authors must confirm that the work has not been submitted elsewhere.
  • Editorial Policy:
    • Submissions must be plagiarism‑free and properly referenced.
    • UGC’s 2018 Regulations on Academic Integrity apply.
    • Authors must incorporate changes suggested by the Editorial Board before final acceptance.
  • AI Policy:
    • AI tools may not be used for generating substantive content or citations.
    • Limited use for proofreading and sentence restructuring is allowed.
  • Structure:
    • Abstract (200–250 words) + 4–5 keywords.
    • Introduction, Main Body (arguments), and Conclusion.
  • Formatting:
    • Font: Garamond, size 12, line spacing 1.5 (main text).
    • Footnotes: Garamond, size 10, single spacing.
    • Citation style: Bluebook, 21st edition.
    • Only footnotes allowed (no endnotes, bibliography, or references).

  • Submissions must be anonymous (no author name, institution, or identifiers).
