About the Jindal Society of International Law:

Founded in 2020, the Jindal Society of International Law (JSIL) is a student-led initiative under the Centre for the Study of United Nations, guided by Faculty Coordinator Professor (Dr.) Vesselin Popovski. The Society provides a vibrant platform for students and scholars to engage with pressing issues in international law, encouraging critical thought and innovative scholarship.


About the JSIL Blog:

The JSIL Blog is a dynamic space for exploring the complexities of international law in today’s rapidly changing global order. It invites contributors to move beyond traditional doctrinal approaches and critically examine the intersections of law, power, and justice.

In 2026, as global institutions face unprecedented challenges, the Blog seeks to highlight diverse perspectives on authority, legitimacy, and the evolving role of law in addressing humanitarian and geopolitical crises.


Themes for Submission:

Contributors are encouraged to submit analytical pieces on topics such as:

  • Crisis of Authority: Legitimacy of international institutions amidst human suffering and legal ambiguity.
  • New Frontiers of Warfare: Legal implications of AI, cyber-attacks, and digital surveillance.
  • Climate & Continuity: Climate litigation and its impact on sovereignty and intergenerational equity.
  • Decolonizing the Global Order: Addressing historical injustices and colonial legacies in international law.
  • Humanitarian Dilemmas: Law as a site of protection in contexts of conflict, sanctions, and displacement.

Note: These themes are indicative, and submissions on related areas of international law are welcome.


Submission Guidelines:

  • Authorship: Single or co-authorship (up to two authors).
  • Word Count: 1000–1500 words (including headings).
  • Formatting: Times New Roman, font size 12 (text), 14 (headings).
  • Referencing: Hyperlinks preferred; if unavailable, use endnotes in OSCOLA (4th edition) style.
  • File Format: Word document (.doc or .docx), A4 size, normal margins.
  • Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished.

  • Submissions will undergo a review process, with decisions communicated within two weeks.
  • Authors may be asked to incorporate suggested revisions before final publication.
