About Gujarat National Law University (GNLU):

About the Legal Services Committee (LSC):
The GNLU Legal Services Committee (LSC) functions as the epicentre of legal aid and allied activities, set up under Section 4(k) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. Guided by the principle of law as an instrument of social change, the Committee runs pro bono clinics, prison legal aid initiatives, awareness drives, and research projects, empowering communities through accessible legal services.
About GALSF:
The GNLU Annual Legal Services Forum (GALSF) is the flagship initiative of the LSC. It unites Legal Aid and Services Committees across India, NGOs, Legal Services Authorities, and experts to collaborate on strengthening India’s legal aid framework. Over six successful editions, GALSF has become a national platform for dialogue, innovation, and capacity‑building in legal aid.
The 7th edition (March 21–22, 2026) will be held as a week‑long Legal Services Week, exploring the theme:
Theme: Artificial Intelligence for Access to Justice
This year’s focus is on how AI can democratise legal knowledge, reduce delays, enhance aid mechanisms, and mitigate structural barriers to justice. Discussions will address predictive analytics, multilingual guidance, AI‑assisted dispute resolution, and ethical challenges in technology‑enabled justice.
Key Components of GALSF 2026:
- Mediation Competition
- Practical training in dispute resolution across family law, consumer issues, labour relations, and technology conflicts.
- Integration of AI tools such as online mediation platforms and automated scheduling.
- Team Composition: 3 members (1 mediator + 2 client‑counsel).
- Eligibility: Undergraduate law students (3‑year or 5‑year courses).
- Registration Fee: ₹3000/team (accommodation charged separately).
- Important Dates:
- Registration deadline: 13th February 2026
- Preliminary rounds: 21–22nd February (virtual)
- Quarter finals: 28th February 2026
- Semi‑finals: 21st March 2026
- Finals: 22nd March 2026
- Paper Presentation Competition
- Focus on empirical research into AI’s impact on legal accessibility and efficiency.
- Team Composition: Two presenters + faculty convenor.
- Eligibility: Undergraduate law students.
- Registration Fee: ₹2000/team (optional accommodation ₹1000).
- Submission Deadline: 15th March 2026 (final presentation).
- Registration closes: 13th February 2026.
- Round Table Discussion
- Multi‑stakeholder dialogue with policymakers, jurists, academicians, and technology experts.
- Focus: Integrating AI into justice delivery while safeguarding fairness, privacy, and ethics.
- Date: 22nd March 2026.
- Legislative Drafting Workshop
- Certificate course conducted by eminent Parliamentarians.
- Training in drafting statutory provisions with emphasis on technology regulation, digital rights, and AI ethics.
- Registration Fee: ₹500/person.
- Deadline: 13th February 2026.
- Lok Manch & Podcast Series
- Public engagement platforms exploring ground‑level legal concerns and AI’s role in simplifying processes.
- Podcast episodes will feature experts in law, technology, and policy.
- Abhivyakti – Nukkad Nataks
- Street theatre performances illustrating how technology empowers or challenges access to justice.
- Designed to spark community awareness and dialogue.
- Legal Quizzes
- Covering constitutional principles, AI regulation, digital rights, cybersecurity, and emerging jurisprudence.
- Prize announcements to follow via social media.
