About the Ministry

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), Government of India, is the apex body responsible for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations, and laws relating to women and child development in India. The Ministry plays a pivotal role in policy design, programme implementation, and advocacy to safeguard and promote the rights of women and children across the nation.

About the Internship

The Internship Programme of MoWCD invites applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers enrolled in or associated with universities, academic institutions, or non‑academic organizations. The programme provides qualitative exposure to the Ministry’s mandate, enabling interns to undertake pilot projects and micro‑studies focusing on ongoing activities. Interns gain hands‑on experience in policy analysis and programme implementation, empowering them to proactively raise issues concerning women and children on various platforms in the future.

Eligibility

• Applications are invited from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers belonging to non‑Tier I cities and rural parts of India.
• Candidates must be enrolled in or associated with any university/academic/non‑academic institution.
• Applicants must be within the age group of 21–40 years.

Stipend & Facilities

• Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹20,000 per month.
• Travel reimbursement for joining and returning from the programme will be provided (Deluxe/AC bus or 3‑Tier AC train).
• Hostel accommodation on a shared basis will be arranged in Delhi for the duration of the internship.

Duration & Batches

The internship programme is conducted in four terms each financial year, with each term lasting two months:

• May–June
• August–September
• November–December
• February–March

• Up to 20 interns per batch

Application Timeline

• Applications must be submitted two months prior to the start of the internship, between the 1st and 10th of the month.
  • Example: 1st–10th March for the May–June batch; 1st–10th June for the August–September batch.
• Last Date to Apply for the upcoming batch: 10 September

Application Procedure

• Applications must be submitted online through the official Internship Programme portal of the Ministry.
• Once selected, a candidate will not be eligible to apply for subsequent terms.
