About Justice N. Kotiswar Singh:

Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh was born in Imphal, Manipur. His academic journey began at Imphal, followed by Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia (West Bengal), and St. Anthony’s College, Shillong. He graduated with a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi (1983) and obtained his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi (1986).

• 1986: Enrolled as an Advocate.
• 1992: Attended the Commonwealth Young Lawyers’ Course at the University of London.
• Practiced before the Supreme Court of India, Gauhati High Court, Central Administrative Tribunal, Guwahati, and subordinate courts in Manipur.
• Served as Standing Counsel for Government of Manipur and public undertakings.
• 2007–2008: Advocate General of Manipur; designated Senior Advocate by Gauhati High Court.
• 2011–2012: Sworn in as Additional Judge, later Judge, Gauhati High Court.
• 2013: Judge, Manipur High Court; later performed duties of Chief Justice.
• 2018–2023: Judge, Gauhati High Court; performed duties of Chief Justice multiple times.
• 2023: Elevated as Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
• 2024: Elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India (18 July 2024).

Justice Singh has represented India in several international judicial dialogues and training programs, including UNESCO (Paris), Washington DC, Ottawa, and Maldives.

Internship Details:

The Office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, invites applications for judicial internships (physical mode) during July and August 2026.

• Eligibility: Preferably Final Year Law students; Penultimate Year students may also apply.
• Duration: 1 Month (extendable based on performance).
• Mode: Physical (Supreme Court of India).
• Application Process: Applications must be submitted only through the prescribed Google Form. Email applications will not be entertained.
