Call for Papers – PRIDE Journal of the Centre for Trans Studies (2026):

About the Journal:

PRIDE Journal of the Centre for Trans Studies is an annual, peer‑reviewed and refereed publication of the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The journal is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary scholarship on gender diversity, sexuality, and the lived experiences of transpersons across cultures and contexts.

The forthcoming volume is scheduled for publication in 2026, and contributions are invited until 31st July 2026. Manuscripts must be submitted to the Editor via email at pride.cts.uils@gmail.com.

Scope of the Journal:

The journal welcomes original contributions in the following thrust areas:

  • Transgender Rights and Law – Legal recognition, constitutional rights, anti‑discrimination frameworks, and policy reforms.
  • Social and Cultural Dimensions – Identity formation, family structures, cultural representation, and intersections of caste, class, religion, and gender diversity.
  • Health and Well‑Being – Healthcare access, reproductive rights, mental health, and inclusive medical practices.
  • Education and Institutional Practices – Inclusive pedagogy, curriculum design, and institutional reforms for safe learning spaces.
  • Community Narratives and Activism – Grassroots movements, advocacy strategies, and empowerment initiatives.
  • Intersectionality and Global Perspectives – Comparative and interdisciplinary approaches linking trans studies with human rights, feminism, queer theory, disability studies, and Global South perspectives.

Guidelines for Contributors:

  • Contributions may be Research Articles, Book Reviews, Testimonials, or Case Comments in English.
  • Word limit: 5,000–8,000 words.
  • Format: MS Word (.doc/.docx), Times New Roman, Title (14 Bold), Sub‑Title (12 Bold), Text (12), Line spacing 1.5, margins 1 inch.
  • Citation Style: APA (7th edition) for social sciences; ILI for law research.
  • Abstract: Not exceeding 150 words with 4–5 keywords.
  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and accompanied by author details (name, affiliation, postal address, email, contact number) on the first page only.
  • Graphs, tables, and charts should be in black and white, numbered consecutively, with titles and sources.
  • Manuscripts will undergo blind peer review and plagiarism check (more than 10% plagiarism will lead to rejection).
  • Review process: Approximately 3–4 months. Editorial decisions are final.

Peer Review and Publication:

All submissions will be evaluated by the Editorial Board and external referees. Authors may be asked to revise manuscripts based on expert feedback. Accepted papers will be published in the 2026 volume.

  • India: Rs. 350 (Individuals/Institutions)
  • Outside India: USD $50

Payment must be made via demand draft in favour of Director, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
