Delhi Journal for Law and Justice (DJLJ) – Call for Papers 2026:
Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence – Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi
The Delhi Journal for Law and Justice (DJLJ), a student-run, double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal of Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, invites submissions for its 2026 Issue. The Journal provides a platform for law students, scholars, and practitioners to publish original, high-quality research in the field of law and justice.
I. Aims and Scope:
DJLJ seeks to:
- Publish original, peer-reviewed work addressing current legal and policy challenges in India and abroad.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research drawing from Political Science, Economics, Sociology, History, and related fields.
- Provide a forum for scholars, practitioners, and students to critically engage with legal theories and practices.
- Connect legal theory with practice through empirical research, case studies, and policy analysis.
- Build a global academic community fostering innovative legal thought on justice, fairness, and ethics.
- Maintain high standards of peer review and editorial integrity.
II. Eligibility:
Submissions are invited from:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Research scholars
- Legal practitioners and policy professionals
Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome if they employ accepted legal methodologies such as doctrinal analysis, empirical legal study, or socio-legal research. Collaborative authorship is permitted for up to two authors, except for Case Comments and Book Reviews.
III. Submission Categories:
- Long Articles (5,000–8,000 words, excl. footnotes)
- Short Articles (3,000–5,000 words, excl. footnotes)
- Legislative / Case Comments (1,500–2,000 words, excl. footnotes)
- Book Reviews (1,000–1,200 words)
Suggested Themes:
- Current issues of legal significance (national/international)
- Recent judicial pronouncements and legislative developments
- Comparative law and legal systems
- Interdisciplinary legal studies
IV. Submission Guidelines:
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
- Abstract (200–250 words) and five keywords required for Long/Short Articles.
- Gender-neutral language is encouraged.
- Exclusivity policy: no simultaneous submissions.
- Non-compliance may lead to preliminary rejection.
V. Formatting Guidelines:
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified text, 1-inch margins.
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, size 10, single spacing, conforming to Bluebook (21st Edition).
- Headings: Structured in four levels (Roman numerals, capital letters, Arabic numerals, and italicized lowercase Roman numerals).
- Quotations: Single quotation marks; double marks for quotations within quotations.
- Empirical Research: Authentic datasets must be submitted in clear graphical format.
VI. Submission Process:
- Deadline: 15th May 2026, 11:59 p.m. IST
- Mode: Electronic submission only via official website – DJLJ Submission Portal
- Formats: Word (.doc/.docx) and PDF (.pdf)
- Co-authorship not allowed for Case Comments and Book Reviews
- AI Policy: Authors may use AI only for minor editing (proofreading/rewording), not for content creation or citations

VII. Review Process:
DJLJ follows a multi-step double-blind peer review:
- Initial Review – checks anonymity, formatting, exclusivity.
- Editorial Review – evaluates clarity, novelty, structure, and contribution.
- Peer Review – external experts assess methodology, rigor, and impact.
- Final Editing – substantive and line editing by the editorial board, with author approval before publication.
VIII. General Policies:
- Open Access: All published submissions are freely accessible worldwide.
- Copyright: Law Centre-II retains copyright; authors grant DJLJ a royalty-free license for publication and distribution.
- Indemnification: Authors indemnify DJLJ against claims of infringement or rights violations.
