About the Seminar:

Since the end of the Cold War, the international order has undergone profound transformations. The unipolar dominance of the United States and its allies is gradually giving way to multipolar arrangements in trade, diplomacy, and security.

While globalization advanced through free trade, cooperative maritime laws, and shared commitments against terrorism, recent crises—such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (2022) and the ongoing conflict in Gaza—have destabilized trust in international institutions like the United Nations, International Court of Justice, and International Criminal Court.

Emerging economies such as India, Brazil, and South Africa have consolidated ties with Russia and China under the BRICS framework, reflecting a shift away from Western‑dominated unipolarity. India’s rise as the fourth‑largest economy and a leader in South‑South cooperation exemplifies this transformation. Yet, South Asia faces challenges of internal unrest in Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh, weakening the relevance of SAARC.

This seminar will provide a critical space for scholars, students, and policymakers to deliberate on these global shifts, examining the declining role of international institutions and the intersections of politics, economics, and diplomacy.

Objectives:

• Critically assess the transformation of the global order from unipolarity to multipolarity.
• Examine the epistemology of the emerging world order and intersections of international law and politics.
• Analyse the role of emerging economies, especially India, in shaping the international political economy.
• Evaluate the failures and possible roadmap of international institutions amidst crises.
• Explore South Asia’s regional instability and its implications for India’s foreign policy.

Guidelines for Extended Abstract Submission:

• Format: .doc/.docx only (PDF not accepted); Times New Roman, size 12, spacing 1.5.
• Plagiarism: Below 10%; AI content: 0%.
• Keywords: Minimum five.
• Co‑authorship: Allowed up to two authors (only one presenter).
• Cover Letter: Must include author names, designations, institutional details, category (PG/PhD/Faculty), and contact information.

• PhD Scholars: ₹1500
• Postgraduate Students: ₹1000

Participation & Publication:

• Maximum 50 papers will be accepted.
• Parallel sessions may be conducted.
• Certificates of Presentation/Participation will be issued (not in absentia).
• Selected papers may be published in an Edited Book with ISBN.
