ABOUT:

Sudhanshu Batra, Senior Advocate has been in acitve practise since the past 33 years. He has taught Law at the Law Faculty of Jamia Milia Islamia University and at the Faculty of Law, Law Center-I, Delhi University, Delhi. He remained a Real Estate consultant with the ‘Economic Times’, a Times Group Publication, for a period of almost a year, during which he wrote on subject of the ‘Property Law matters every week in the Column on ‘Consultations’. Besides, practicing Law, he has and contiues to  conduct several arbitration cases as an Arbitrator for commercial disputes.  He undertook training as a Mediator in the year 2006 conducted by Delhi High Court Mediation & Conciliation Centre (Samadhan). Since then he has conducted Mediation Sessions in over 300 cases. He has even attended the ‘Train the Trainer’ program at Utah University, Salt Lake City, USA 2010 and a workshop n Meiation at the Peperdine University. He has remained Organising Secretary at the Delhi High court Mediaiton and Conciliation Center for about six and half years. During his tenure as Orgainsing Secretary, he has been isntrumental in the prodiction of an animation Film on Mediation for Samadhan. As a member of the overseeing Committee of Samadhan, he continues to conduct interactive sessions and programmes on Mediation with the team of Trainers from Samadhan periodically.

As a resource person, Sudhanshu coducted training in Mediation for Lawyers and  Judges in Delhi, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Guahati, Chinnai, U.P. and Kolkata. He has also addressed officers at MMTC, Law Schools and school children to sensitise them on the concepts and benefits of Mediation.

Nature of internship

• Assist with day to day legal research, prearation of briefs and opinions etc.
• Exposure in Courts and Tribunals procedings etc.
• Research and drafting knowledge-based articles/legal updates and preparing case notes.
• The intern should possess basic knowledge in computers and various legal search engines/platforms.
• The intern is expected to work with the team in an organized manner.

Who can apply

Student pursuing a 5-year law program or a 3-year law program.

Duration of internship

Minimum 4 Weeks. Certificate for the internship will only be provided to students who complete 4 weeks and above.
