The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) invites applications for the following NLSIU Fellowships on a contract basis:

1. Graduate Research Fellowship (10 positions)
2. NLSIU Postdoctoral Fellowship (5 positions)
3. University Research Fellowship (5 positions)

About the Fellowships:

The NLSIU Research Fellowships programme offers exciting opportunities for scholars to advance innovative and high-impact research in law, social sciences, and public policy. Designed for researchers at different stages of their academic and professional journey, the programme invites scholars to spend dedicated time at NLSIU working on their research and engaging with the University’s diverse intellectual community.

In selecting the Fellows, the University is committed to supporting research that:

• advances fresh theoretical perspectives and contributes meaningfully to knowledge systems; and/or
• generates robust empirical evidence, identifies practical pathways for institutional and system reform, and bridges scholarship, policy and practice.

Location:

Fellows are expected to be on campus during their fellowship period.

Remuneration:

The starting monthly remuneration for each fellowship category is as follows:

• Graduate Research Fellowship: Rs 50,000/- per month
• Postdoctoral Fellowship: Rs 1,20,000/- per month
• University Research Fellowship: Rs 2,00,000/- per month

The fellowship remuneration will be determined based on the candidate’s educational background, qualifications, relevant experience, and overall suitability for the fellowship.

Deadline:

Applications are invited for intake starting January 2027 only. The deadline for submission is 30 October 2026, 5:00 pm IST.
