About the Organizers:

Late Senior Advocate C.P. Sudhakara Prasad, hailing from Chavarcode near Varkala, was a distinguished legal professional who twice served as the Advocate General of Kerala (2006–2011 and 2016–2021, with cabinet rank), and also held leadership roles in the All India Lawyers’ Union as State President and Vice President. A graduate of Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram (1964), he trained under eminent lawyers before establishing an independent practice specializing in service and constitutional law, and was designated a Senior Advocate in 2002. Today, AILU represents nearly 50,000 lawyers nationwide, continuing its mission of legal activism and public service.

About the Competition:

The 4th C.P. Sudhakara Prasad Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2025‑26, organized by the All India Lawyers Union Ernakulam District Committee, builds on the success of its previous editions to provide law students with a platform to hone essential skills in research, writing, critical thinking, and advocacy. Centered on the constitutional role of the Governor under Article 200 of the Indian Constitution, the moot problem engages with a pressing issue currently before the Supreme Court, making it highly relevant to today’s legal and political discourse. Open to students of both the 5‑year integrated and 3‑year LL.B. programmes, the competition aims to foster legal acumen, courtroom decorum, and collaborative learning while offering valuable networking opportunities.
