About Event:

Organized under the III Edition of VidhiUtsav 2026 | Commemorating 77 Years of the Constitution of India

The Student Committee for Constitutional Law & Human Rights (SCLHR), UPES, proudly presents the Seventh Edition of its flagship National Constitutional Law CompetitionYou, Amend Your Constitution! This year’s theme, “The Forgotten Framers”, invites participants to critically engage with constitutional law by proposing and defending amendments that address contemporary legal and social challenges.


Objective:

  • Provide a platform for students to explore constitutional reform and interpretation.
  • Encourage drafting and justification of proposed amendments with research-backed reasoning.
  • Enhance skills in legal analysis, advocacy, and structured communication.
  • Inspire participants to think like constitutional framers, challenging and reimagining the foundations of India’s supreme law.

Competition Format:

Round 1 – Written Submission

  • Draft and justify a proposed constitutional amendment aligned with the theme.
  • Submissions will be evaluated on originality, relevance, reasoning, legal knowledge, and conclusion.

Round 2 – Oral Rounds (Offline at UPES, Dehradun)

  • Top 8 submissions will qualify.
  • Each participant/team will present their amendment in 15 minutes (8 minutes for opening statement + 7 minutes for judges’ questions).
  • Judged by eminent academicians and legal experts.

Eligibility:

  • Open to Students, Research Scholars, and PhD Candidates pursuing graduate or postgraduate degrees in any field of study.

Registration Fee:

  • Individual Entry: ₹500
  • Team Entry (Two Members): ₹600

Awards & Prizes:

  • 1st Prize: ₹10,000 + Trophy
  • 2nd Prize: ₹6,000 + Trophy
  • 3rd Prize: ₹4,000 + Trophy
  • Special Mentions:
    • Excellence in Drafting
    • Outstanding Presentation

📜 Certificates of Merit will be awarded to top participants, and Certificates of Participation will be given to all.

  • Last Date for Registration: 20 February 2026
  • Last Date for Written Submissions: 2 March 2026
  • Result Announcement (Round 1): 12 March 2026
  • Oral Rounds: 10–11 April 2026
  • Valedictory Ceremony: 12 April 2026
