About the Corporate Law Committee

The Corporate Law Committee bridges theory and practice in corporate law through research, events, and training. Past initiatives include “Navigating the Complexities of Corporate Law” (2024), “Decoding Deal Making” (2025), and “Boardroom Negotiation & Governance Simulation” (2026). Its flagship event, Decoding Boardroom Dynamics, returns in October 2026 with an expanded format.

About the Event

Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0 is a two‑day national workshop and competition combining:

  • Boardroom Simulation: Participants assume roles such as Chairperson, Company Secretary, Independent Director, External Legal Counsel, and Small Shareholder Director to tackle governance challenges.
  • NCLT Trial Simulation: Finalists argue complex corporate disputes before a simulated tribunal, mirroring real‑world litigation and dispute resolution.

This initiative provides hands‑on exposure to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, negotiation, and advocacy, preparing students for professional practice in corporate law.

Competition Structure

  • Day 1 (16 October 2026):
    • Panel Discussion with academicians and industry experts.
    • Preliminary Boardroom Simulation (30 teams → 16 qualifiers).
  • Day 2 (17 October 2026):
    • Final Boardroom Simulation (16 teams → 4 NCLT finalists).
    • Semi‑Final NCLT Trial (4 teams → 2 finalists).
    • Grand Final NCLT Trial (2 teams → 1 Champion).

Prizes & Recognition

  • Winner: ₹21,000 + Trophy
  • Runner‑Up: ₹11,000 + Trophy
  • Best Individual Roles: ₹4,000 + Trophy each (Chairperson, Independent Director, Company Secretary, External Counsel, Small Shareholder Director)
  • Certificates:
    • Participation Certificates for all.
    • Excellence Certificates for Top 2 Teams.
    • Special Recognition for Best Individual Roles.
