About the Organizers

Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan, Ghaziabad Founded in 1975, Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan is a nationally recognized voluntary organization awarded at the state level for its pioneering work in disability inclusion. It addresses issues of poverty, food insecurity, homelessness, healthcare, and social vulnerability by empowering marginalized communities through education, skill development, and crisis support.

Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthanam, Lucknow Established in 1976, the institute is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit, Pali, and Prakrit literature. It continues to safeguard India’s intellectual heritage, including the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and other classical texts.

Kamkus College of Law, Ghaziabad Managed by Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan, Kamkus College of Law was founded in 2007 and is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Approved by the Bar Council of India, the college emphasizes innovative legal education and holistic student development.

Seminar Objectives

The seminar seeks to bridge ancient Indian jurisprudence with modern judicial frameworks. By revisiting Sanskrit texts such as Manusmriti, Yajnavalkya Smriti, Kautilya’s Arthashastra, and Mimamsa Sutras, the seminar aims to:

• Explore Dharma, Vyavahara, and Sadachara as guiding principles.
• Strengthen judicial ethics and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
• Contextualize constitutional values within India’s cultural heritage.
• Foster interdisciplinary dialogue among legal experts, Sanskrit scholars, and students.

Sub-Themes

1. Rajdharma and Modern Administrative Law – Governance principles in Arthashastra.
2. Ancient Methods of Dispute Resolution (ADR) – Panchayat, arbitration, and conciliation in Sanskrit texts.
3. Law of Contracts & Civil Law – Debt, property transfer, and commerce in Yajnavalkya and Narada Smriti.
4. Environmental Protection and Law – Vedic and Puranic perspectives on ecological justice.
5. Jurisprudence and Rules of Interpretation – Application of Mimamsa principles in modern statutory interpretation.
