About the Opportunity:

The Supreme Court of India (Recruitment Cell) invites online applications for the engagement of Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates on short-term contractual assignment. A panel of approximately 90 candidates will be prepared for the term 2026–2027, with a consolidated remuneration of ₹1,00,000/- per month.

This is a full-time contractual role. Selected candidates will not have any claim for regular appointment or continuance in service. The Registry reserves the right to terminate the engagement at any time with prescribed notice.

Essential Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Law Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (including Integrated Law Degree) from a recognized institution in India, eligible for enrolment as an Advocate.
• Final-year students of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course or Three-Year Law Course may apply, subject to proof of qualification before joining.
• Strong research and analytical skills, legal writing abilities, and proficiency in computer-based legal research (e-SCR, SCC Online, Manupatra, LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.).

Age Limit:

• Minimum: 20 years
• Maximum: 32 years (as on 07.02.2026)

Selection Process:

The recruitment will be conducted in three phases:

1. Part I – Multiple Choice Test (law application & comprehension)
2. Part II – Subjective Written Test (writing & analytical skills)
3. Part III – Interview

• Date of Examination: 07.03.2026
• Part I: Online mode
• Part II: Pen-paper mode (questions displayed on computer screen)
• Model Answer Keys: Available on 08.03.2026; objections accepted till 09.03.2026 (₹100/- per objection, refundable if valid).
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks per incorrect answer.

Test Centres:

Exams will be conducted in 23 cities across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, and others.

• Closing Date: 07.02.2026
• Application Fee: ₹750/- (non-refundable) + bank charges, payable online via UCO Bank gateway.
• Applications accepted only through online registration

General Instructions:

• Admit Card issuance does not guarantee selection.
• Candidates must upload a recent photograph and signature as per instructions.
• Multiple applications: only the last submitted form will be considered.
• No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the Written Test.
• PwD candidates may avail scribe facility subject to prescribed eligibility and documentation.
• Final engagement subject to verification of academic certificates and other formalities.
