About Justice Satish Chandra Sharma:

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma was born on 30th November 1961 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. His father, Dr. B. N. Sharma, was a distinguished professor at Jabalpur University and later Vice Chancellor of Barkatullah University, Bhopal. His mother, Smt. Shanti Sharma, served as a Principal and District Education Officer at Jabalpur.

  • Education:
    • Completed schooling at Christ Church Boys Higher Secondary School and Central School, Jabalpur.
    • Graduated with a B.Sc. (1981) from Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar, securing distinction in three subjects.
    • Awarded National Merit Scholarship for postgraduate studies.
    • Obtained LL.B. (1984) from Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, topping his class with three Gold Medals.
  • Legal Career:
    • Enrolled as an Advocate on 1st September 1984; practiced Constitutional, Service, Civil, and Criminal law at Madhya Pradesh High Court, Jabalpur.
    • Appointed Additional Central Government Counsel (1993) and Senior Panel Counsel (2004).
    • Designated Senior Advocate (2003) at age 42, one of the youngest in Madhya Pradesh High Court.
  • Judicial Career:
    • Elevated as Additional Judge, Madhya Pradesh High Court (2008); Permanent Judge (2010).
    • Transferred to Karnataka High Court (2020); Acting Chief Justice (2021).
    • Elevated as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court (2021); later Chief Justice of Delhi High Court (2022).
    • Elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 9th November 2023.

Justice Sharma is an avid reader, associated with National Law Universities, and serves on advisory boards of premier institutions including NLIU Bhopal and India International University of Legal Education and Research, Goa.

The Office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Supreme Court of India, invites applications for judicial internships (physical mode) during June 2026.

Eligibility:

  • 4th/5th year students of a 5‑year integrated LL.B. programme
  • 2nd/3rd year students of a 3‑year LL.B. programme
  • Post‑graduate law students
