About NITI Aayog

The NITI Aayog serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India, tasked with catalyzing economic development and fostering cooperative federalism. With the Prime Minister as Chairperson, NITI Aayog comprises Vice Chairperson Suman Bery and Ex-Officio Members including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Narendra Singh Tomar.

About the Internship

The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme invites applications from undergraduate/postgraduate students and research scholars enrolled in recognized universities/institutions in India and abroad. Selected interns will work closely with NITI’s verticals, divisions, and cells, gaining exposure to policy formulation and government functioning.

Purpose

The internship aims to provide short-term exposure to selected candidates, enabling them to engage with the functioning of NITI Aayog and contribute to developmental policy issues.

Objectives

• To associate young academic talent with NITI Aayog’s work for mutual benefit.
• To provide interns with opportunities to understand government functioning and policy-making.
• To enable contributions through empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers.

Mode of Internship

• On-site at NITI Aayog, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria

• Undergraduate Students: Must have completed/appeared in 2nd year exams (4th semester) and secured at least 85% marks in Class XII.
• Postgraduate Students/Research Scholars: Must have completed/appeared in 1st year/2nd semester exams and secured at least 70% marks in graduation.
• Recent Graduates: Those awaiting admission to higher studies may also apply, provided they meet the academic criteria.
• The gap between declaration of final exam results and commencement of internship must not exceed six months.

Duration

• Minimum: 6 weeks
• Maximum: 6 months
• Certificates will be issued only upon completion of the requisite period.
