About Justice Sandeep Mehta:

Practiced in Trial Courts, High Court as well as Supreme Court. Remained Counsel for Commission in 3 Judicial Enquiry Commissions headed by the Retired as well as Sitting Hon’ble Judges of High Court. Remained Member, Bar Council of Rajasthan from 2003 to 2009 & 2009. Remained Vice-Chairman, Bar Council of Rajasthan in 2004-2005. Remained Chairman, Bar Council of Rajasthan in 2010. Elevated as the Additional Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on 30 May 2011 and became permanent Judge on 6 February 2013. Took oath as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court on 15 February 2023.

Elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 9 November 2023.

Call for Application- Internship Jan to March 2026:

The Chambers of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sandeep Mehta, Judge, Supreme Court of India, is now accepting applications for in-person, full-time internships for the period of January 2026 to March 2026.

Eligibility:

• Law students currently studying in the 4th or 5th year of a 5-year integrated B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. program (or equivalent). 
• Law students in the 3rd year of a 3-year LL.B. program. 

Internship Slots:

1. 4th January, 2026 to 31st January, 2026 [Open]
2. 1st February, 2026 to 28th February, 2026 [Open]
3. 7th March, 2026 to 31st March, 2026 [Open] 

Important:

If you wish to apply for multiple slots, please submit a separate application for each slot. Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the start of your desired internship slot. 

Selection Process:

• Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email or phone approximately 2 weeks before the start of the desired slot.
• If you do not hear back from the office 2 weeks before the start of your preferred internship period, consider that your application was not considered. Please note that the selection process is highly competitive and may not reflect on your capabilities or potential.
