GD Goenka University, School of Law, proudly announces its International Conference on Geographical Indications (GIs) — one of India’s first interdisciplinary platforms dedicated to exploring GIs through the combined lenses of law, economics, technology, governance, and social impact.

About the Conference:

Geographical Indications are at the crossroads of intellectual property law, trade, cultural heritage, and technology-driven governance. This conference will critically examine:

• GI protection under TRIPS and comparative frameworks
• Blockchain, traceability, and e-commerce ecosystems
• Livelihoods, gender participation, and rural entrepreneurship
• Enforcement challenges, policy reform, and innovation pathways

The event aims to bridge the gap between legal intent, technological promise, and lived experience, especially in informal production systems and rural economies.
