The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam is a premier law school established by the Government of Assam under the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court serves as the Chancellor of the University. NLUJAA is recognised for promoting quality legal education and advanced research facilities for students and scholars from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and regional backgrounds across India.
The DPIIT-IPR Chair at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam was established in 2018 under the SPRIHA Scheme of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India. The Chair is committed to strengthening intellectual property awareness, research, and practice, particularly within the North-East region. Through research initiatives, training programmes, outreach activities, and policy engagement, it seeks to preserve and promote regional intellectual assets while supporting creators, innovators, and artisans.
The LawCademy is a legal education and mentorship platform dedicated to bridging the gap between law students and the practical realities of the legal profession. Our mission is to create meaningful industry exposure through mentorship programs, expert-led sessions, skill-based courses, and opportunities that empower aspiring legal professionals.
By connecting students with practitioners from leading law firms, chambers, and organizations, The LawCademy aims to make legal learning more accessible, practical, and industry-oriented. Alongside educational initiatives, we actively foster a growing community of ambitious law students seeking guidance, professional growth, and deeper engagement with the evolving legal ecosystem. With a vision to build a modern and collaborative legal learning environment, The LawCademy continues to create platforms where students can learn directly from professionals and develop the skills necessary to excel in the legal industry.
The DPIIT-IPR Chair at NLUJAA, in collaboration with The LawCademy, is organising the 1st International Article Writing Competition. The competition invites students, academicians, researchers, professionals, and policymakers to engage with contemporary issues in Intellectual Property Law through interdisciplinary and globally relevant scholarship.
The competition seeks to encourage original and policy-oriented research integrating law, economics, technology, governance, and innovation while promoting high-quality academic discourse and publication opportunities.
The competition is open to:
Co-authorship: A maximum of two authors is permitted.
