About DPIIT-IPR Chair:

The DPIIT-IPR Chair at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam was established in 2018 under the SPRIHA Scheme of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India. The Chair is committed to strengthening intellectual property awareness, research, and practice, particularly within the North-East region. Through research initiatives, training programmes, outreach activities, and policy engagement, it seeks to preserve and promote regional intellectual assets while supporting creators, innovators, and artisans.

About the Event:

The DPIIT-IPR Chair at NLUJAA, in collaboration with The LawCademy, is organising the 1st International Article Writing Competition. The competition invites students, academicians, researchers, professionals, and policymakers to engage with contemporary issues in Intellectual Property Law through interdisciplinary and globally relevant scholarship.

The competition seeks to encourage original and policy-oriented research integrating law, economics, technology, governance, and innovation while promoting high-quality academic discourse and publication opportunities.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to:

• Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students from disciplines including Law, Technology, Economics, and Social Sciences
• Research Scholars
• Academicians and Researchers
• Legal Professionals and Industry Experts
• Policymakers and Regulatory Authorities
• International Participants interested in Intellectual Property and related legal issues

Co-authorship: A maximum of two authors is permitted.

Selection Guidelines:

• Submissions must be original and unpublished
• Articles should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere
• Maximum plagiarism threshold permitted is 10% as per UGC norms
• Excessive AI-generated content shall lead to disqualification
• Evaluation shall be based on originality, legal analysis, structure, research quality, clarity, and relevance to the theme

Submission Guidelines:

• Word Limit: 1500-2500 words
• The manuscript must adhere strictly to the prescribed formatting guidelines
• Authors are advised to maintain anonymity within the manuscript for fair evaluation
• Submissions exceeding the prescribed similarity threshold shall be rejected
