  • Programmes span thematic areas such as governance, gender justice, child rights, constitutionalism, democracy, and social development.

Faculty Position Openings:

Azim Premji University is inviting applications for Faculty Positions in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) under its School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre (SCE-URC). The role is designed for experienced legal practitioners and educators committed to advancing access to justice and professional development for lawyers and para-legals across India.

Role and Responsibilities:

Faculty members in Continuing Legal Education will:

  • Impart CLE programmes to lawyers working on access to justice for vulnerable communities, focusing on legal changes, clinical practice, ethics, and theory.
  • Develop training modules for para-legals through institutional partnerships, enhancing grassroots access to legal support.
  • Build a faculty pool using a Training of Trainers model to expand reach.
  • Teach and train in courses requiring a rights-based lens, including governance, democracy, and constitutional law.
  • Design and deliver curricula tailored to stakeholder needs, including session plans, learning materials, and practice-oriented modules.
  • Monitor and assess learning outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement in training effectiveness.
  • Initiate new courses responding to emerging needs in the justice sector.
  • Contribute to capacity development programmes across the University.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related social sciences.
  • 5–6 years of experience in litigation, training, curriculum development, or mentoring lawyers.
  • Ability to design and conduct courses in English and Hindi for civil society organizations and frontline legal functionaries.
  • Strong skills in critical reflection, communication, and collaborative work.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for programme delivery.

Desirable Specializations:

  • Laws relating to children, women, Dalits, Adivasis, labour, land, forest, social security, and entitlements.
  • Experience in access to justice programmes, litigation, and collaboration with civil society and government sectors.
  • Strong professional networks within CSOs across India.
