Advertisement for the Post of Assistant Professor (Maritime Law):
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad invites applications for the post of Assistant Professor (Maritime Law) on a contractual basis, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, Mumbai.
Position Details:
- Number of Posts: 2 (Two)
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must be fluent in English.
- Tenure: Initially for one year, extendable based on performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
Option 1:
- Master’s degree in Law (Maritime Law) with at least 55% marks.
- UGC‑NET/SET qualification.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in handling matters related to Maritime Law / International Maritime Law.
Option 2 (Professors of Practice):
- Proven senior expertise in Maritime/International Maritime Law.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the field.
Age Limit:
- Below 35 years as on 30.04.2026.
- For Professors of Practice, below 45 years.

Selection Process:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
- Final selection will be based on interview performance.

- Prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum; higher qualifications will be given preference.
- The University reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for interview.
- Names of suitable persons recommended by experts may also be considered.
- Relaxation of qualifications/experience may be permitted under UGC Regulations.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
- The Selection Committee may adopt its own evaluation methods.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- No interim queries regarding test/interview/selection will be entertained.
- The University reserves the right not to fill any advertised vacancy.

- Legal jurisdiction in case of disputes will be restricted to Courts in Hyderabad.
