Call for Essays – MAGLAW Journal (Special Issue 2026):

The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh invites submissions for the Special Issue of MAGLAW Journal – Volume V, Issue 1 (2026).

MAGLAW is a bi-annual, peer-reviewed, refereed student law journal established in 2019. It provides a scholarly platform for law students to engage with contemporary legal issues and showcase original, high-quality academic writing.


Theme of the Special Issue:

“International Law at Crossroads: Navigating Geopolitical Friction”

Submissions may explore, but are not limited to, the following sub-themes:

  1. Interventionism and the Erosion of Sovereign Immunity
  2. Refugee Status, Territorial Asylum, and Statelessness
  3. Weaponization of Trade: Economic Coercion & Sanctions
  4. Role and Reform of International Organisations
  5. International Frameworks for Protection of Women and Children

Essays on other relevant topics under the main theme are welcome.


Important Dates:

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 10th March 2026 (by 11:59 a.m.)
  • Full Manuscript Submission: Within one month of abstract selection

Recognition:

  • Authors of selected essays will receive a Certificate of Publication.
  • The three best essays will be awarded an e-Certificate of Merit.

Conditions of Publication:

  • Anonymity: Manuscripts must not contain author details; a separate cover letter is required.
  • Originality: Submissions must be unpublished, plagiarism-free (similarity index ≤ 20%).
  • AI Restriction: Use of AI-assisted writing tools is strictly prohibited. An AI report must be submitted.
  • Essay Format: 2,500–3,000 words, British English, Times New Roman (12 pt), 1.5 spacing.
  • Citation Style: In-text citation using ILI format; full references at the end.

Submission Process:

  • Stage 1: Abstract (≤ 250 words), 5 keywords, cover letter, and self-declaration via Google Form.
  • Stage 2: Selected authors submit the full manuscript, plagiarism report, and AI report.

Mode of Submission: Exclusively through the Google Form (link provided in official notification).
