Call for papers: Shimla Law Review Vol. VIII (2025–26):
The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla invites manuscripts for the Eighth Volume of its annual, peer‑reviewed, UGC‑CARE indexed journal, Shimla Law Review (SLR) (ISSN: 2582‑1903). Submissions are open to judges, faculty, research scholars, professionals, and students across disciplines engaging with contemporary socio‑legal issues, theories, and developments. The last date for submission is April 30, 2026. All submissions must be made via the official Google Form provided by HPNLU.
About Shimla Law Review:
SLR is owned and published by HPNLU, Shimla, and provides a forum for rigorous scholarship beyond the traditional classroom. It encourages contributions across the evolving legal regime aligned with constitutional values and public deliberation. Previous volumes have earned recognition from the bar and bench, with selections among notable peer‑reviewed papers internationally (2010–2020), high SSRN download rankings in jurisprudence and theoretical inquiry, and citations in leading legal texts, including administrative law.
Categories and word limits:
- Lead or special articles: 15,000–20,000 words
- Articles: 8,000–15,000 words
- Case comments: 6,000–8,000 words
- Notes (including legislative comments): 6,000–7,000 words
- Book reviews: 2,000–3,000 words

Submission Guidelines:
- Theme: No specific theme; interdisciplinary and contemporary socio‑legal work is welcome.
- Mode: Electronic submission only via the HPNLU Google Form (official link provided by HPNLU).
- Formatting: Typed in MS Office, double‑spaced, with a left margin of 1.5 inches.
- Abstract: 250–300 words, submitted along with the manuscript.
- Covering letter: Must include the paper title, author(s) name(s), designation(s), contact details, and institutional affiliation(s). It must include a solemn declaration of originality and non‑submission elsewhere.
- Editorial decision: Acceptance/rejection is at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board; all communication will be electronic. The Board may reject a manuscript at final stages.
- Deadline: April 30, 2026.
Terms and conditions:
- Originality and research quality: Manuscripts must be original, well‑researched, and follow the uniform style guide prescribed by SLR.
- Copyright: Copyright in published articles vests in HPNLU, Shimla (owner of SLR).
- Attribution: All adopted views and sourced material must be quoted and sufficiently acknowledged.
- Paraphrasing: Paraphrasing without attribution is not considered original work; if unavoidable, it must be properly acknowledged.
- Legal responsibility: Contributors bear the risk and liability for copyright, defamation, or contempt claims.
- AI/ML policy: Any manuscript containing content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) will be rejected outright.
